Shelly Pasternak is a PhD Candidate, at The Zvi Meitar Center for Advanced Legal Studies, The Buchmann Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University. She holds Bachelor of Law and Political Science degrees, and Masters of Law, all studied in Tel Aviv University. Her Masters’ thesis, titled ‘Is Sovereignty Magical? The Death and Resurrection of State Sovereignty in 21st Century Land Rush,’ was supervised by Prof. Eyal Benvenisti. Her current research, under the supervision of Prof. Roy Kreitner and Prof. Anita L. Allen (University of Pennsylvania), titled ‘In Search for Jurisprudence of Self,’ focuses on the question of identity at the crossroads of the private and the public.
