Dr. Oren Asman is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. His research and teaching relate to bioethics, health law, mental disability, and responsible AI in Medicine. His academic work is interdisciplinary and done in collaboration with stakeholders in the Israeli mental health system, the Ministry of Justice, and stakeholders in the tech industry.
In his public roles, Dr. Asman chairs compulsory psychiatric hospitalization review committees and a hospital ethics committee.
Dr. Asman is the Director of the Samueli Initiative for Responsible AI in Medicine, at Tel Aviv University and dedicates a large portion of his research to responsible design and use of generative AI in mental health.
